New residents, new businesses
Many foreigners who move to Valencia open a café, a restaurant, a coworking space, a language school or a rental business. These are businesses that live from their Google and TripAdvisor rating, and that suffer when fake reviews, reviews from former employees or reviews used for blackmail appear. We check each one against the platform rules and only challenge those that break them.
Your data in Spanish listings and gazettes
Setting up a company, buying a property or taking part in a public procedure in Spain can leave your name in official gazettes, the BORME (the companies register gazette) or directory websites that copy them. Some of this data has to be public, but much of it can be removed from directories or delisted from Google. We exercise your GDPR rights with each website and, if they do not reply within the legal deadline, complain to the AEPD.
Old news that keeps appearing
We also see local news stories about disputes, arrests that came to nothing or business failures that were settled long ago and still appear when your name is searched. The fact that information was true at the time does not stop you asking for it to stop appearing if it has lost relevance. With the publication we first try an update or anonymisation, and with Google the right to be forgotten.
Authorities and courts
The Valencian Community has no regional data protection authority, so the competent authority is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). When defamatory content cannot be removed amicably, the next step is the courts in Valencia. In those cases we work with a law firm and provide a forensic report proving what was published, where and when.
Where we are
We do not have an office in Valencia: our only office is in Tres Cantos, near Madrid, and we work remotely with the whole of Spain. Requests to platforms, search engines and authorities are made in writing, so you do not need to travel. Every case is reviewed by Javier Arenillas, an IT specialist, SEO analyst and court-appointed IT forensic expert with a master's degree in cybersecurity. More about us.
Not sure whether it can be removed? Try our feasibility simulator or read our guides in English.
