Businesses that depend on visitors' opinions
Restaurants, bars, apartments, excursion companies and beauty or health clinics in Tenerife receive reviews from visitors of many nationalities all year round. A wave of one-star reviews without a real visit, a review from a competitor or a guest demanding a refund in exchange for not posting can noticeably affect bookings. We review each one against the platform rules and challenge those that break them.
Fake adverts and impersonation
We regularly see adverts on rental portals and social media that copy the photos of a real apartment to take deposits, and profiles that use the name of a well-known local business. We act with the platforms, the hosting providers and the search engines, and we certify the content with a forensic report so that the business or the victims can report it.
Expat groups and local news
News and gossip travel fast in English-language groups and forums for residents. When a post is defamatory, reveals your address or your family's details, or simply mixes up you or your business with someone else, it can be reported through the right channel. An old local news story that keeps appearing under your name can be updated, anonymised or delisted from Google if it has lost relevance.
Authorities and courts
The Canary Islands are fully part of the European Union for data protection purposes and have no regional authority, so complaints go to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). If a case needs to go to court in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, we work with a law firm and provide the forensic evidence. Proceedings are in Spanish, and we help you follow them in English.
Where we are
We do not have an office in Santa Cruz de Tenerife: our only office is in Tres Cantos, near Madrid, and we work remotely with the whole of Spain. Requests to platforms, search engines and authorities are made in writing, so you do not need to travel. Every case is reviewed by Javier Arenillas, an IT specialist, SEO analyst and court-appointed IT forensic expert with a master's degree in cybersecurity. More about us.
