Communities that talk on social media
Many foreign residents on the Costa Blanca get their local news, recommendations and warnings from Facebook groups and forums in English, Dutch, German or Scandinavian languages. That is useful, but it also means a single angry post about a builder, a property manager or a bar can reach thousands of potential clients in a day. Most platforms remove content that is defamatory, harassing or reveals personal data, as long as the report is made through the right channel and with the right argument.
Fake shops and copied brands
Alicante is home to the European Union Intellectual Property Office, and brand protection is a daily concern for many local companies. We regularly see fake online shops that use the name, photos and catalogue of a real brand to sell imitations or take orders that never arrive. We act with the hosting provider, the registrar, payment platforms and search engines, and we document everything so you can report it if you wish.
Holiday rentals and seasonal reviews
In holiday rentals and coastal hospitality we see guests who threaten a bad review unless they get a refund, reviews that do not match any stay and reviews from competitors. Each one is checked against the platform rules. A review used as blackmail breaks the rules of every major platform, so keep the messages: they are the evidence that gets it removed.
Authorities and courts
The Valencian Community has no regional data protection authority, so complaints about personal data go to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). If a case needs a claim before the courts in Alicante, we work with a law firm while we provide the forensic report on the websites, profiles or reviews involved. Proceedings are in Spanish, and we help you follow them in English.
Where we are
We do not have an office in Alicante: our only office is in Tres Cantos, near Madrid, and we work remotely with the whole of Spain. Requests to platforms, search engines and authorities are made in writing, so you do not need to travel. Every case is reviewed by Javier Arenillas, an IT specialist, SEO analyst and court-appointed IT forensic expert with a master's degree in cybersecurity. More about us.
